Joe Warwick - Director and Instructor

After graduating from Virginia Tech in Physics and Mathematics, Joe completed his Masters Degree in Secondary Mathematics and Science Education at Lehigh University. He began teaching at the Council Rock School District in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Joe quickly settled into specializing in physics at the high school after many different assignments, including teaching math for 8th and 9th grade. His current assignment includes teaching calculus based, Advanced Placement Physics. Within the first 5 of his 19 years of teaching, Joe received the Yearbook Dedication from the Class of 1996 student body and the Golden Apple Award Teaching Award from his colleagues.

Joe has been active in educational reform for the last 13 years while working with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. He has worked as a lead developer in the Secondary Science Teacher Board Certification. He has been charge of directing scoring sites across the country and training staff to recognized accomplished teaching.

In addition to his teaching position, Joe has been the head coach for Boy's Cross Country and Spring Track and Field programs. After the high school split into Council Rock North and South, Joe brought the program to very high level in 5 years.

His program won the Suburban One League Championships in both Cross Country and Track. His Cross Country team finished 2nd at the PIAA District I Championships. He has earned back-to-back titles of “Bucks County Coach of the Year” by the Bucks County Courier Times in both Cross Country and Spring Track. Joe competed himself as a runner in the NCAA and competed in the US Olympic Trials 1500 meters in 1996. He was ranked in the top 30 among runners in the US in both 800 and 1500 meters and has competed professionally overseas in the European Track and Field Circuit.

Joe is dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere for children to explore science and develop personal skills to help them succeed. He and his wife, Karen, are enjoying raising their 8 year old son, Connor.
