Ed Warwick - Instructor

Ed is a retired mechanical engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1963 from the University of Florida. Ed worked for a worldwide specialty pump manufacturing company in a wide variety of responsibilities including Research & Development, Product Design, and Engineering Management. He conducted frequent technical seminars for Engineering firms and published papers throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, China, Korea and Southeast Asia .

Ed is the father of four grown children (all are College Graduates) with four Grandchildren. He has served as a Cub Scout Pack Master and Boy Scout Scoutmaster for 5 years, including many camping and backpack trips. Ed has led his family on backpack trips in Florida , North Carolina (Shining Rock Wilderness Area), and in Pennsylvania, and canoe trips in Canada and New York . He learned to Sail while growing up in Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. He grew into an avid sailor and has Bare boat chartered in the Chesapeake Bay, and in the British Virgin Islands.

Later, he earned his Private Pilot license in 1995, IFR flight certification in 2000 and owns a single-engine Cessna 182. He often flies to visit friends and family in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Florida and a trip from Philadelphia to San Diego last summer, all with his wife Frances as copilot. Before full scale aircraft, Ed has experience in selecting, building, and flying control line and radio control gas engine and electric motor airplanes and sailplanes. He is experienced with Microsoft Flight Simulator on the computer. He has enjoyed the hobby, spending many fun filled hours with his son Joe.

In addition to enjoying spending time with his children's growing families, he has enjoyed vacation travel in the US, Greece, China, and in October 2004, by RV to Nova Scotia. Ed brings a wealth of knowledge to this camp along with outstanding teaching skills. He is excited to share and promote the world of aviation and science with youth.
